This watercolor painting was done from a photograph taken as part of a series of reference photos for a house portrait I painted for a friend. She wanted the burro in the painting because it had a special significance for her husband and the painting was to be a present for him. I liked my photo of the burro so much I decided to do a painting of just the burro. I'm happy with the weathered stone textures and the 3 dimensional quality.
